So... working for Disney for little money is fun. Seriously. It's so fun where I work, even though it's with food and I didn't have much fun with that at my last job. Plus, I do a lot of overtime, since I really like where I work and that's over $10 an hour. I work at Epcot in the Land Pavilion in a food court-type restaurant called Sunshine Seasons. We wear some God-awful costumes, but hey, they could be worse.
And now.... a few of the most common questions I encounter at work, and the answers I give to them:
NOTE: Imagine me saying these with a smile plastered on my face and very, very cheerfully, because that's how we act here at Disney...
Guest: Where is the bathroom/restroom/washroom/loo? (OH MY GOD asked SO many times a day. Disney needs to put up signs and not hide this bathroom...)
Me: Through Soarin' and to the left. (You have to pass under the sign for the ride and down a dark hallway to the left and NOBODY ever knows where it is. It's amazing how many people we find backstage outside who are just trying to find a bathroom, or the way out of the building)
Guest: How do I get out of here/the building/this place? Me: You have to go back up the stairs (there are 2 sets of stairs and an up and down escalator) and around to the exit right above the restaurant. Lot's of people seem to forget how the hell they got in the building in the first place...
Guest: Your prices are too high. How can you sleep at night knowing you're ripping people off? Me: I sleep pretty well at night, except that my roommate snores, but I don't decide the prices, so I don't have much of a problem with it.
Guest: Can we use the Disney Dining Plan here? (AH I HATE THAT PLAN, but it is a good deal...) Me: Yes, with the Dining Plan, you can get an entree, a drink and a dessert, and for kids you can get a kids choice meal (which comes in these super cute mickey-face-shaped plates) with a small drink and a choice of a cookie, brownie, marshmallow treat, or worm and dirt.
Guest: Where is your menu? Me: There are televisions above every station that showcase that station's selection of menu items. (PLEASE LOOK AT IT.)
Guest: Where do you have cream/sugar/straws/utensils/napkins? Me: Our condiment bar is behind the registers, you can find everything you need there.
Guest: Where are the registers??? Me: The registers are right behind you (you passed them when you walked in here...), you can pay there. :)
